Washington Pastoral Counseling Service(WPCS) has been affiliated with St. Paul’s since 1987. WPCS is an independent, non-profit agency which has been providing professional pastoral counseling services to the greater Washington Community for over 40 years. WPCS began as a program of Foundry UMC in Washington D.C.

St. Paul’s current counselor is Mandi C. Mader, a licensed clinical social worker. She is also the Executive Director of  WPCS. To help support WPCS’s mission, St. Paul’s provides counseling office space, and in return its counselor is known to the congregation and is readily available to help parishioners with any problems or concerns they may have.

Pastoral counselors help people with the same problems that regular counselors or
psychotherapists do, however their work is God centered and often incorporates a
person’s spiritual journey and relationship to God. Some of the problems that our
counselors see are: marital conflict, parenting concerns, depression, anxiety, relationship
difficulties, work concerns, substance use, and past or current abuse. To find out more
about WPCS you can visit their Website at www.WPCS.org.

A sliding fee scale is used and some insurance is accepted. To reach Mandi Mader, please
