The people who
walked in darkness have seen a great light; those who lived in a land of deep

Prayer
God, we pray your holy light may surround each of us with hope,
peace, joy, and love.
Prepare us for the greater light that is coming into the world, whose
brightness shall never be quenched and whose beacon shall be in our hearts to
follow forever. May we be open to
sharing with others the promise you have given us, through Christ we pray. Amen.

Our
Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be
done on earth as it is in heaven. Give
us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those
who trespass against us. Lead us not
into temptation, but deliver us from evil, for Thine is the kingdom, and the
power and the glory forever. Amen.

Prayer after Communion (Unison)
We give you thanks, most
gracious God, for allowing us to share in this feast as your family; and to be
fed with the bread of heaven. Give us
grace that we all may grow in love, glorifying you in all things, through Jesus
Christ our Lord. Amen.

The Festival of Light
*Carol Silent Night, Holy Night Franz Gruber
Silent night, holy night, all is calm, all is bright
round yon virgin mother and child. Holy infant, so tender and mild,
sleep in heavenly peace, sleep in heavenly peace.
Silent night, holy night, shepherds quake at the sight;
glories stream from heaven afar, heavenly hosts sing Alleluia! Christ the Savior is born, Christ the Savior is born!
Silent night, holy night, Son of God, love’s pure light;
radiant beams from thy holy face with the dawn of redeeming grace, Jesus, Lord, at thy birth, Jesus, Lord, at thy birth.
Silent night, holy night, wondrous star, lend thy light;
with the angels let us sing, Alleluia to our King;
Christ the Savior is born, Christ the Savior is born!

Join us for worship tomorrow morning at 10:15.
Next Sunday, come for worship at 10:15. Start the New Year in the Lord’s House. Bring a dish to share for an informal potluck brunch following worship. What a wonderful way to relax and share memories of the season.
On January 8, we will dedicate the kneelers, an eight-year project completed! The celebration will take place at the 10:15 service. We’ll be joined by former pastors Chet Kirk and David Argo. **This is the day we resume our regular schedule of worship services: 8am Communion (every week); 9am Joyful Rising (praise band); and 10:15 sanctuary worship.
Did you know that in January there are at least 5 study opportunities for adults. Check out your newsletter or the brochures in the office.
Couples Retreat: Want a great way to wind down after the Christmas season? Join us for a fun 22 HOURS.
