Call to Worship
L: Night has fallen and we gather to tell the story of Jesus’ birth.
P: This
birth brings great joy for all and the peace the Child brings is for all the
earth.
All: He is named Wonderful Counselor, Mighty
God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Prayer
Almighty God, you who
came to earth as a baby, fill us with your compassion and your tenderness so
that we might care for the weak and the vulnerable and show the world what it
its like to have God among us. In the
name of the Christ child we pray as Jesus taught us.
Lord’s Prayer
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be
thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive
us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us
from evil, for Thine is the kingdom, and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

*Carol Silent Night, Holy Night No. 239
Silent night, holy night, all is calm, all is bright
round yon virgin mother and child. Holy infant, so tender and mild,
sleep in heavenly peace, sleep in heavenly peace.
Silent night, holy night, shepherds quake at the sight;
glories stream from heaven afar, heavenly hosts sing Alleluia!
Christ the Savior is born, Christ the Savior is born!
Silent night, holy night, Son of God, love’s pure light;
radiant beams from thy holy face with the dawn of redeeming grace,
Jesus, Lord, at thy birth, Jesus, Lord, at thy birth.
Silent night, holy night, wondrous star, lend thy light;
with the angels let us sing, Alleluia to our King;
Christ the Savior is born, Christ the Savior is born!
*Benediction

Join us for worship tomorrow morning at 10:15.
Next Sunday, come for worship at 10:15. Start the New Year in the Lord’s House. Bring a dish to share for an informal potluck brunch following worship. What a wonderful way to relax and share memories of the season.
On January 8, we will dedicate the kneelers, an eight year project completed! The celebration will take place at the 10:15 service. We’ll be joined by former pastors Chet Kirk and David Argo. **This is the day we resume our regular schedule of worship services: 8am Communion (every week); 9am Joyful Rising (praise band); and 10:15 sanctuary worship.
Did you know that in January there are at least 5 study opportunities for adults. Check out your newsletter or the brochures in the office.
