*** Middle High UMYF “Thanks for Giving” Project – Many thanks for the contributions for a happier Thanksgiving for those in need in our area.  Your generosity will positively impact the lives of 171 Kensingtonians this holiday season.  If you had intended to make a contribution and have not yet done so, it’s not too late!  Packages will not be finalized until this evening, so please feel free to drop off any items in the interim.  Middle High youth will meet in the Narthex at 5:30 for sorting, distribution, and pizza.  Questions?  Call Meg Baker (301-589-1348).

STAR TREE PROGRAM – provides gifts to disadvantaged children who participate in the Talent, Education, Arts and Mentoring (TEAM) after-school program in Washington, DC.  Please consider helping make a child’s Christmas wish come true or contributing to his/her family by purchasing a grocery gift certificate (Safeway or Giant).  The tree display will be in the Octagon beginning next Sunday, November 26.  Contact Kaye McMullen (301-942-8986) or Kim Longsworth (301-320-3684) if you have any questions.

Please continue to pray for St. Paul's in the midst of the Capital Campaign!  These are exciting times in our congregation and we want to give our best effort for God's purposes.  Please be open to a visit from one of our volunteers to hear more about the campaign and to be included in this effort.  We are very appreciative of the number of hours our volunteers are putting into this.

Poinsettias – Orders for poinsettias to beautify our Sanctuary at Christmas will be taken after each of the three services – next Sunday (11/26) and December 3 & 10.  The cost is $10.50 per plant, and you may choose red or white.  They will be available for pick up after the Christmas Eve service.  You can also sponsor church door wreaths, at a cost of $20 per wreath.  Both poinsettias and wreaths may be designated in honor or memory of loved ones.  Please make checks payable to St. Paul’s UMC.

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Our full and part time staff gives so much to each and everyone of us through out the year, faithfully serving our church with compassion, professionalism and love.  To acknowledge their outstanding service, the Staff Parish Relations Committee (SPRC) would like to extend an invitation to all members of the St. Paul’s church community to contribute to a Christmas Holiday Gift Fund for the Pastors and the Church Staff.  If you would like to contribute, please bring your donation to the church office and label it “Staff Christmas Gift” and mark it to the attention of Hal Frazier or Tracey Furman.  Please have your donation arrive prior to December 15 so that we can distribute the Christmas gifts prior to the holiday.  Thank you for your generosity in recognizing the people that give so much to all of us!

The United Methodist Women’s Christmas Luncheon will be Saturday, December 9 from 11 to 1, in Heavener Hall.  The program will include a speaker from Montgomery Avenue Women’s Shelter and a carol sing.  Donations of small toiletry items for the Shelter will be received at the door.  It will be a potluck lunch, please sign up in the church office today, November 26 or December 3 and let us know if you will bring a salad or a desert.  All women are welcome – so please bring a friend!

UMM Christmas Tree Sale – Friday, December 1 thru Sunday, December 17, plus or minus a day - depending on when the trees sell out.  Unlike previous years, the trees will be sold only on Fridays (10 a.m. – 7 p.m.), Saturday (9 a.m. to 6 p.m.) and Sundays (11:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.).  Look for the trees in front of the parsonage.  Please volunteer to help – sign up in the church office.  For answers to questions, call Harold Moyer (301-946-1865) or Jerry Watkins (301-942-7405).
