Opening Prayer
God of all the
families of the world, for most of us it is enough to love but a few people
deeply: spouse, friend, child, parent.
But your love is not an exclusive love.
You have given Jesus Christ to us as Savior, as friend, as brother. And in Christ we have indeed found ourselves
at home in your family. We thank you for
Jesus Christ, who greets each person as brother or sister, and summons us to
recognize each other as family.
HEARING GOD’S
WORD
Gathering of
Joys and Concerns for Prayer
Pastoral Prayer and Lord’s Prayer
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come,
thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we
forgive those who trespass against us.
Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, for Thine is the
kingdom, and the power and the glory forever.
Amen.
