WILDERNESS TRAIL This Saturday, a group from St. Paul’s will leave for a week of Wilderness Trail, a Christian backpacking and adventure ministry, along the Appalachian Trail in southwest Virginia.  During a week of daily hikes, adding up to some forty miles, the group will learn and practice how to be in Christian community by sharing food, challenges, burdens and fellowship both along the trail and around the campfire.  Led by Ms. Pat Warren and Mr. Leo Schwartz, the hikers will include 8th graders MEREDITH ENGLEHART, SEAN GUY, LEIGH HARWOOD, TIM HIGGINS, CONOR JACKMAN, JORDAN McEWEN, MARJORIE   McCURRY, EMMA MERRICK and ALEX SCHIPONI.  Also, MARY JEANNE HARWOOD is participating as a junior counselor working with another group. Please keep them all in your prayers for the duration of their time away, June 16-23.

SUMMER DINNER THEATRE – Sign-up TODAY in the church office to reserve your ticket to see Ragtime.  The show, directed by Tom Pedersen, is on Sunday, July 22nd at Montgomery College Summer Dinner Theatre. Buffet opens at 12:30 p.m. Show begins around 2:15 p.m.

JUNE CHOIR – Give singing in the Sanctuary Choir a try! Throughout June, there are no regular Thursday evening rehearsals. Come to Room 211 at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday mornings to prepare for the 10:15 a.m. service. 

 

FRIENDSHIP CLUB GETTYSBURG TRIP – On Tuesday June 12th, Friendship Club bus leaves the parking lot at 9:30 a.m. for Gettysburg Trip for folks with tickets.  There may be a few seats available.  If interested call 301-564-0357.

 

‘MALICE IN THE PALACE’ DVD   Would you like to be able to see the May 20th youth performance of Malice in the Palace again? SUPPORT OUR MISSION PROJECTS IN CIUDAD SANDINO, NICARAGUA – On July 9th, 21 people from St. Paul’s will leave to spend a week with the people of Nicaragua, working with them on two projects – one at a high school and one at a church based pre-school.  Please consider helping by donating or contributing towards the items on the following list. There are boxes in the Narthex to collect these supplies. THANK YOU!

SUMMER SUNDAY SCHOOL for children ages 3 through 2nd grade will be held in rooms 201 & 203 every Sunday this summer.  If you can volunteer for one or two Sundays this summer, the children would really appreciate it!  It’s easy, very low key and relaxed.  You will not need to prepare a lesson. It is simply a safe, loving place for the younger kids to go while their parents go to church.  Sign-up on the sheet located in the stairwell outside the kindergarten room. FREE STRATHMORE CONCERT – The US Air Force celebrates its 60th anniversary with a musical celebration Saturday, June 30, at 8:00 p.m. in the Strathmore Music Center. There is a 4-ticket limit per household which can be secured online or in person.  If you are interested, please sign up in the church office or contact Meg Baker at 301-589-1348.  Limited transportation is available.
