BREAD!!  Are you looking for a way to show someone you care?  St. Paul’s UMC is starting a bread charity that is part of a national movement called “Spread the Bread”. We will be using the Heavener Hall kitchen once a week to bake bread.  The bread then will be delivered to individuals who are having a tough time (such as someone who has lost a parent, someone recovering from surgery, etc.) and, on a rotating basis, to groups who would appreciate it, such as nursing homes, Children’s Inn at NIH, etc.  The bread will be wrapped as a gift and include a note expressing our care.  If you know a person or a group who would appreciate a loaf or loaves of bread, please fill out the short form in the church office.  Questions?  Please feel free to contact Jenny Smith at 301-946-3804 or jenny.kensington@verizon.net.

The United Methodist Men are having their next supper & general meeting on Wednesday, April 4th at 6:30 p.m. in Heavener Hall.  They will be featuring their usual fare of pizza, subs, salad, dessert and beverage for $5, payable at the door.  After a short business meeting, Rick Buckingham will present a slide program on the recent St. Paul’s group trip to Israel.  A sign-up sheet is in the church office.  Women and teens are invited to join us for this portion of the evening and should arrive by 7:40 p.m.

“Celebrating the Third Place – On Sunday, April 15, from 11:30 to 1 p.m., Mike McCurry and David Stegmaier will lead a book study.  They recommend first reading the author’s earlier book, “The Great Good Place”, as it provides the context for his later work.  You are invited to read these inspiring stories about the “great good places at the heart of our communities….where the magical combination of comfort, familiarity, and good company transform an ordinary hangout into our special third place.”  Both books are available at Amazon.com.

St. Paul’s is seeking a full time Office Manager with ability to supervise paid and volunteer workers, word process, manage website, and produce a newsletter.  Knowledge of Word, Publisher, and Shepherd’s Staff is a plus.  Send resume to: Rev. Dr. Karin Walker, 10401 Armory Ave, Kensington, MD, 20895.  The deadline is April 1.  For question, please call 301-933-7933 or email rekarin@comcast.net.
