During the UMYF Middle High Lock-In, Feb. 2-3, members will be making valentines and putting together “Care Packages” for those connected with our congregation who are serving overseas with our armed forces.  Families of our service men and women are requested to provide the church office with current mailing addresses and suggestions for what items (socks, food, coffee, etc.) might be most appreciated by the recipients.  Donations towards the cost of purchasing items and the cost of postage will also be appreciated.  Our deadline for all information is Wednesday, January 31st!

Please mark your calendars – St. Paul’s United Methodist Women are inviting all to a “Special Valentine’s Day Dinner” in Heavener Hall on Wednesday, February 14, with proceeds to go toward local mission projects.  There will be a “gathering” at 6 p.m., dinner at 6:30, followed by a short musical program.  The cost of the tickets: $8 adults; $4 children (3-12 years); and $20 (max.) for a family.  The tickets will be available in the church office on Sundays, Jan 28, Feb 4 and 11 (deadline).  If you have any questions, please call Ruth Ann Kuykendall (301-942-0663) or Beverly Burdin (301-933-7933 – Wednesdays and Fridays).

The United Methodist Men are having their next supper & general meeting on Wednesday, February 7th at 6:30 p.m. in Heavener Hall.  They will be featuring their usual fare of pizza, subs, salad, dessert and beverage for $5, payable at the door.  After a short business meeting, Jim Heins will present a slide program on the C&O Canal.  A sign-up sheet is in the church office.  Women and teens are invited to join us for this portion of the evening and should arrive about 7:30.
