Call to
Confession
Let us confess
our sins before a mighty yet merciful God.
Prayer of
Confession
God, in this season of Epiphany, where we
celebrate you as the Light that shines for all people, we confess that too
often we live in darkness. Instead of
following the light that has been revealed to us, we choose to remain apart
from you. Forgive us God. Make our desire to seek you so strong that we
can’t help but follow the light no matter where it may lead. Amen.
Silent Prayer
of Confession
Words of
Assurance
God desires a right
relationship with all his children. In
the name of Jesus Christ, we are forgiven.
Praise be to God. Amen.

Pastoral Prayer
& Lord’s Prayer
Our Father who
art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on
earth as it is in heaven. Give us this
day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who
trespass against us. Lead us not into
temptation, but deliver us from evil, for Thine is the kingdom, and the power
and the glory forever. Amen.

PUT A SMILE ONE SOMEONE’S
FACE by serving them a warm cup of
coffee and a treat after the 10:15 service!
It’s easy, fun, and a great way to meet and greet other members of the
RETREAT: A time of
reflection and sharing together. Two
years ago,
*** Should Christians Suffer? – What does the Bible and the Christian Church have
to say about suffering? Most of us know
some faithful Believer who has suffered for years with an ailment of a
life-threatening disease. For years the
assumption has been that Christians were “meant” to endure such tribulations
for some heavenly purpose, although the reasons for doing so were never quite
clear. The question almost naturally
arises, “If God is so good - why do Christians suffer?” It is important then to address this critical
question Sign up in the church office
to become part of a class that will last over seven Sundays starting next
Sunday, January 14, 9-10 a.m.
During
the UMYF Middle High Lock-In, Feb. 2-3, members will be making valentines and
putting together “Care Packages” for
those connected with our congregation who are serving overseas with our armed
forces. Families of our service men and
women are requested to provide the church office with current mailing addresses
and suggestions for what items (socks, food, coffee, etc.) might be most
appreciated by the recipients. Donations
towards the cost of purchasing items and the cost of postage will also be
appreciated. Our deadline for all
information is Wednesday, January 31st!
